Philips 206A

Geschreven door Mike Horne op 04. Apr 2007 21:02:08:

Hi I have a Philips 206A valve radio that I would like to restore. Someone has replaced the volume control & switch with one of a different type fitting. I would like to be able to obtain an original control & switch for this radio.
Secondly, do the I.F Transformers present much problem on these sets (i.e ferrite cores that break away from their supports in the transformer, like on sets of a similar age like the Bush DAC90 of 1946)? The core adjustments on the 206A i.f.t's seem to be well filled up with wax, which is not easy to dislodge (even with a hot air dryer). The gain on these sets always seem low with regards to other Philips radios of the same era.
My 206A uses Mullard tubes ECH35, EF39, EBL31, & AZ31.
Regards
Mike
