I did repair an EI set from the sixties recently. It was also made for the UK market, and labeled Hi-Fi Super S5000. You are right that some parts of these sets ressemble Philips parts.

But your chassis is certainly not a typical Philips chassis, it was constructed according to EI's own standards.

You noticed three loops in the dial cord system. Does this mean that there are 3 discrete cords?

I can guess that one of the cords will connect the tuning pulley, the dial pointer and the variable capacitor. As the variable capacitor is mounted under a 90 degrees angle to the dial plate, there should be 2 small wheels to guide the cord towards the larger capacitor wheel.

What functions do the other two cords perform?
