Hello wellenkino a receiver I wish was in my collection Its about 70 kg to be lifted and transported by two strong people. What happened with it? Dropped from the stairs? What are the problems to solve except stretching out the dents (ask a metalworker or car specialist to do this).
:OK:

hello Sander,
I see you have a pair of that amazing RA17 radios, very nice !
When I go to NL or UK I want to test one :-) Wadley Loop design, total amazing.

About the R+S: I am self a spezialist for press brake, laser cut, sheet metal working. So the restoration of the case will be a no problem. More problem is to run the radio, this is not my job, but my hobby :-)

in all ranges of single conversion it works allready.
in the ranges upside, means double conversion, there is a lower sensitivity, I am thinking for tired tubes in the IF stage 1 = 3MHz

The PSU was removed and all electrolytics checked for capacity and isolation.
The scaling works exactly.

I have to buy tubes, they are not in my stock bec. the radio use allover SQ, like EF805s, ECC801s, E180F and so on.

greetings

"..I am thinking for tired tubes in the IF stage 1 = 3MHz...

"Let at this moment the Radio play for several hours every day .
After a long period of time not been used ,somtimes the tubes get "lazzy".

My experiance with old tube equipment that after a basic check I let it run for several
hours.
After that I check again the condition of the tubes and performance of the equipment it self.

Often it is much better and don't need to replace tubes.

So let it run for some time.

Check also oscillator and mixer tubes for emission. But as said let the receiver run for hours.
If you check tubes only pull them out per piece and write down which tube belongs in what position. This is my advice for tubes that are equal types. It not wise to swap equal tubes into other positions. At least thats my experience with Racal RA17L.
