Help to repair the Telefunken radio tuning mechanism (Techniek Radio/TV)

door edison @, Aveiro - PORTUGAL, 22.06.2021, 18:24 (1256 dagen geleden)

Hi.

I have the Telefunken radio type 97 and the tuning mechanism have two washers from a material that is defective.
These washers are between the pulleys where the tuning wire runs.
A mechanism selects the dial cord for FM or other bands.

Would you like to know what is the best material to replace these washers and where can i find it.

The photos better clarify what I want.

Henk

Hello Edison.
What you can do is to buy some friction material in a shop where they are making brakes en clutches for classic cars and motorcycles.
You can use the same glue (epoxy) as the specialists use for the production of brake and clutch parts.
This is more durable than sanding paper.

Help to repair the Telefunken radio tuning mechanism

Hello Edison,

I have used o-rings for a similar problem with a SABA mechanism. Glue the o-rings to the outer plates. It might need some tuning to flatten one side of the oring so that at least one side of the mechanism is free and the other side is catching the spikes on the middle part. Choose the o-rings OD so they catch the spikes.
Worked for me several times :)
Success

Thanks frans for the tip.

I test the sandpaper and didn't work.
Not test the o-rings, but test the self-vulcanizing rubber tape, and that tape work very well.
The tape is thin and I glued 3 layers, and glue to the outer plates.

The spikes "grip" the rubber well.
