Dear Mr Sieme

Last lime you were kind enough to give me the working of the motorised band switch. I have some doubts which I am giving below:
1. I have set the band switch in KG2a band position manually.
2. I want to know as to how the position of the three discs and the motor shaft has to be adjusted for correct operation.
3. I think the position of the first disc which is mounted on the motor shaft is not very critical but the position of the motor shaft has to be correct. Should I move the motor shaft manually so that the switch SK7 just opens and then I should tighten the screw on this disc?
4. The position of the middle disc? At the position KG2a should the mechanical stop be reached?
5. What should be the position of the 3rd disc which is mounted on the band switch shaft?

I want to have a clear idea as I feel the position of the three discs has been changed.

Regards
P.Rajan

Dear Mr. Rajan
Referring to your,' How to adjust' question:
Figure no.4 in the document you sent along in your first message on this matter is showing the situation where the band K.G.2a is selected.Make sure the contact is on the spot, that is in the middle of its assigned sector ,if the reversing wheel then is in the position as shown on the drawing it is ok,otherwise losen the sk6 gear and without disturbing the switch setting adjust the reversing gear. The hole in the switch gearwheel and pin on the reversing gearwheel on 6 o clock .
The motor will show its resting position when no band is selected and power is on.Adjusting the arrow is an cosmetical issue but it is nice to see it on the dot at each wave band.
I hope this will answer your question.,

Sieme

Dear Mr. Sieme

Thank you very much for your reply. As per your advice I have adjusted the center disc and the bottom disc to the 6"clock position. I am attaching the back photo of the chasis which shows the position of the three discs. The band switch is correctly adjusted to KG2a position. I have made one mark on the top disc and 2 marks on the fixed plate at the back. Between these two marks the switch SK7 is OFF. In the rest it is closed. To which of the 2 marks the shaft of the motor along with the top disc should be adjusted. I have at present adjusted to the left mark as shown in the photo.

Dear Mr. Rajan,
The easy way is to deselect all bands ,losen the arrow knob ,hold it pointing upward and apply power.Refasten the knob; The dead sector should now show up symmetrically around the arrow .

Dear Mr. Sieme

Thank you very much for all the explanations. I am in the process of restoring this set. As soon as the work is complete I will be able to switch ON the power and then I will be able to observe the working of the motorized band switch. In case of any difficulty I will write to you. One last clarification I require:

1. When the B.S. is set to KG2a and the motor is stopped. If now the other bands are pressed in the order KG2b, KG2c and so on the motor rotates and comes to stop at the desired location of the B.S. But if in case for e.g. the B.S. is in KG2d position and now the band KG2a is pressed will the motor make the B.S. go up to KG3 and lastly MW and then rotate in the reverse direction and come to stop when the KG2a is reached after passing all the other band i.e. MW, KG3,KG2d,KG2c,KG2b in that order?

2. The motor along with the top disc rotates in anticlockwise direction from KG2a to MW band position.

Dear Mr. Rajan
Every bandchange starts the motor in an ambiguous direction to the left or the right unrelated to the chosen band,so par exemple its neighbor can be reached in either one step or the other way around via the reverse wheelaction back to itself and the one step.
For testing you might consider pulling the rectifier as only 6,3V is needed.
Succes with the overhauling,
Sieme
