Hi,
I need more information about this Philips radio.
This radio have the label B4X36A/35, but inside have another label with the name B4LN46A. The dial-scale is in Portuguese language.
I think that radio was made in Nederlands, and export to Portugal.
Portuguese Philips, put a new dial-scale?, and another label.
What is your opinion?
Regards
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

It was quite a search for information on this radio. I couldn't find anything on B3X36A of B4LN46A.
However I did find something on thwe B4LN16A from 1962 and the B4LN36A from 1964.

These radio's look very similar to each other and the one you have and have the following tubes:
ECH81, EF89, EBC81, EL84, EZ80 and DM71

Both these radio's can receive stations on MW and 3 SW bands.

Regards,
Paul

LN code is Lisbon.
A Philips factory in Portugal till 1970.

build 3-'65

could be that chassis is imported and further assambled in Portugal-Lisbon.

So schematics use B4X36A.

Hi Maurice,

That's the problem. The schematic for the B4X36A cann't be found.
I realy wonder if this model realy existed. At least not here.

The B4X36T did exist, but is a transistor radio (not portable).

Paul

Paul.

Just some numbers to indicate diferent models.
Think chassis are the same, as can be found the schematics of the B3LN36A
on RM.Org.

That is the B3LN36A has a platic case and B4X36A has a wooden case.

That is what I can find.

Perhabs an prosectus or advert of approx 1964 in Portugal does give some answers.

Hi, Many thanks to Paul and Maurice.

Yes, the tube line up is correct (is on the label in the back panel).
It is a Philips made for export, and was relabeled.
My opinion is: Philips made the model B4X36A only for export. The B4LN46A is a Portuguese variant of the same radio.

Carlos
