Dear Cosmo,

Links may indeed become invalid over time, the space granted by one's Internet service provider is limited after all. Free services offer more space, ironically enough. You're supposed to post pictures of friends and exciting experiences and up to some point this old equipment may be exactly that!

The article by Peter van Willenswaard (mentioned in this thread) gives good advice on how to reduce the hum.

There are a few pictures and schematics of Carad circlotron amplifiers at http://cid-1e6f048a33f93dea.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Carad%20Circlotron%20Amplifiers

The circuit of the AAS26 itself is at http://ajdwma.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pHr-J1gphLNIN4oXboucn8iLBsSw-2_LgHJ4PK9Ln6qpEHbYR... (the Microsoft Live environment obviously creates long URLs)

As far as I am aware, there at least the AS16, MPAS08, PAS29, AAS29 and AS50 amplifiers with an output stage using the 'Circlotron' principle. Two former employees of Carad told me that the circuits were inspired by what Philips did in this area (see other messages in this thread).

Success with your restoration,
