The set is working fine except one small problem for which I need your help.
1. Thereis hum in the radio set.
2. When the tone switch is put in pos.1 (radio mode) or pos 3&4 ( PU mode) the hum is there.
3. When the tone switch is put in pos 2 or 5 ( connecting C108,C107& C92 in parallel) there is lot of reduction in the hum.
4.During tone switch in pos 1,3&4 if the junction of R51 & C106 is grounded the hum completely stops indicating that the hum is coming before that.
5.But if the junction R52,R53 & C92 is grounded the hum does not go.
6. Though the junction of C108,C107 & C92 is connected to R51 and variable point of R44,R45 is connected to R52 - Through ordinary wire, I replaced with screened wire but the hum is there.
7. Even if the hand is brought near the area ( without touching anything) where the volume control, tone control and the radio/PU switch is fitted there is too much increase in the hum.
8. IF the bottom plate Al foil side of the set is touched to the bottom of chasis audio amplifier side the hum completey goes irrespective of the pos. of tone switch.
9. Is this a normal phenomenon?
10. I never noticed this in other sets including BX765X.
