Restauratie Philips V6U -Matador (Techniek Radio/TV)

door edison @, Aveiro - PORTUGAL, 22.04.2021, 00:47 (1099 dagen geleden)

Hi.

I present some photos of the restoration of this Philips.
All wires were replaced, with new sleeves and all tar condensers were replaced, with replicas and also some resistances. The potentiometer has been rebuilt, with a new track.

Hope you like it.

very nice replica's, especially the resistors. Never seen this type of construction for a Philips radio like the Matador. Nice job,

Hi Leo.

I molded the resistors with epoxy resin.
After the resin hardened, I made some adjustments with sandpaper ... they weren't perfect, but it keeps the most original look.

Well done Carlos
I like these Matadors, restored a V6A myself. Even have the original backplate with it

Perhaps you know already: Philips did not sell these receivers. They were for rent
and for that reason the backplates were sealed, to prevent exchanging a valve for
a bad one

Maybe they were also rented out (some executions or in some countries), but on this page, it looks suspiciously like they were advertised for sale in at least Portugal.

@Carlos: Nice job!

This is perhaps one of the most difficult radio restorations .
Fabricated by Philips in a time of material scarcity.
very nicely done Carlos!

Carlos,

We like it:-D :OK:

You took it all the way, beautiful.
Capacitors, org Elko's, even the resistors.
You did a great job.

I also like to take effort in the visual aspect of restoring old apparatus.

Full 12 points.
