Hallo radiovrienden,
Ik ben op zoek naar de aan/uit volumeregeling van een philips BX250B00.
Ik denk dat de weerstand 450k tot 500ko is.
Bedankt.

Hi Hans,
My question was translated from English to Dutch with Google translate because I do not understand Dutch so well.
Are you sure it is for my radio?
Can you please send me a picture of it to make sure it is the same with the one in my radio?
Thanks.

anon.
I checked the service manual and the part is listed as R10 which is a DL50K+450K.

Hans I don't think that's the right one. Mine has a longer shaft and the specification in the manual calls for 500kohms. A friend who repaired it measured the low end resistance at 450kohms which seems high to me.
I don't know how to include a photo here. I tried uploading it but a message said the image is in the wrong format. There is no way to change it.

Can you open it?

The potentiometer I showed is the original replacement part. The shaft is adjustable, i.e. extensions come in different lenghts; it is secured with either a grub screw or a screw with sunken head. I have these extensions in stock too.

So, will the extension's outer end look like the original shaft which has a flat area for the original screw to sit on or a flat area is not needed? How is the extension secured on the shaft and how do we know what extension I should use? What is the cost for the control and for the extension?
Also, do you have other parts for this radio because I may need one of the AF controls in the future.
Last, I need the small knobs and the emblem below th push buttons for a Nordmende Fidelio C. The metal cover of the knobs may be of aluminum color because mine is of a different version than the one in the picture. Maybe you know where I can get them.
Thanks.

Hans i noticed another thing: the threaded part around the shaft is shorter than that of the switch now in the radio, will that part be of the necessary length for the new switch to fit correctly?
I need to be sure of some details because we are far from each other and we can communicate only with emailed messages.

It is the original Philips replacement part, so it should be OK

As you can see, there is a flat part on the schaft. Not saying the shaft has the right length, though. If too long, a bit of elbow grease may come in handy.
How is the extension secured on the shaft
Read my previous answer.
and how do we know what extension I should use?
I supply the longest [see picture] and you use the aforementioned elbow grease.
What is the cost for the control and for the extension?
The potentiometer is €10 [ex P&P] and the extension is free.
Also, do you have other parts for this radio because I may need one of the AF controls in the future.
I have parts for all kinds of radios, amps, measuring apparatus; not specifically for just the BX250B /00
I advise you to start a new thread for the Fidelio.

Hi Hans,
I could not find your answer in my hotmail and never thought of searching this site.
Do I have to glue the extension onto the switch shaft or does is it fit tightly by itself?
How do I pay you, can I send you the money in an envelope?

Searcher,
Do I have to glue the extension onto the switch shaft or does is it fit tightly by itself?
For the benefit of others having the same question [which I answered in an earlier reply]: the extantion shaft is secured with either a grub screw or a sunken flat head screw. The first method leaves a relatively smooth shaft. I do not supply the screw, because I hardly have any left.
I will send you a message by clicking the tiny envelope next to your nickname.

I am in Greece. I think my bank in Greece charges about 15 euros for up to 500 euros of transfer, but I can find out tomorrow. My bank in America charges 25 dollars. Also, your bank will charge you because it is an international transfer.
I don't understand what you mean by "clicking in the little envelope next to my nickname".

EDIT
Greece is in SEPA, so money transfers in Euros should be free of charge when using a bank app to tranfer to an account with an IBAN. When you want to transfer money at a bank branch, you may expect to be charged for the trouble.
