On Philips radio's are several scales possible: Southern European, Middle European and Scandinavian scales.

The output stage however isn't that special. It has 2 power penthodes (EL84) of which one powers the bass and one the treble. Switching phase between those EL84's is done by the EC92.

This is what Philips called "Bi Ampli", a system to be developed to a much more complicated configuration than this. See for instance the B7X63A
