When I raised the question on the forum, it was from consumer end perspective only and not from technicalities of the radio. i.e. my exact question would be:

Which Philips valve radio set that has best design, best reception, best quality sound?

I cannot comment on FM and LW bands on valve radio as I have never seen them in India.
What I am looking for best quality reception is on MW and SW bands, especially a Philips valve radio set that as "more SW bands" or "SW bandspread bands".

To me as a layman in radio technology I cannot think of a valve radio set that has entire SW on a single band. That is a bad design for sure but maybe technically a radio set from Germany may have single SW band and still get considered a best radio set. To me, SW must be split across several bands to give the listener the ease of tuning frequencies.
