If you have problems with the mA/V potentiometer you should perhaps also open and check the grid volts potentiometer too as it is sometimes damaged by overvoltage/overcurrent resulting in overheating at the same time. I have seen these two potentiometers being damaged on a few CT160.

I have bought over 50 potentiometers from K5SVC on eBay and I have always been very satisfied with these as they are direct replacements (except for the axis) for the potentiometers that AVO used.
