Hi. I have been informed by a radio collector in Germany that it does not require a spring, the mechanism was probably stiff and required lubrication. Ironically the button can now be pressed down but will not return to its original position.

Hello Mike, on my radio the button return to his original position wen i push one of the other buttons. (LW-MW-KW-UKW)
