restauratie Philips 2032 (Techniek Radio/TV)
Hello and greetings from the U.K.!
I hope it is ok to post in English. If not then I apologise. I am hoping someone could help me. I am currently doing a conservation project on a Philips loudspeaker type 2032. I am looking as to how it may be able to work again and what I might need to do in order to make that happen, or at least test to see if it could. I am not sure the wiring is original nor do I think the wiring is good anymore. Have a look at the photos and see what you think? I have so far cleaned the dirt from the Bakelite and cleaned some of the metal grill. I had a question as to the brass grill as it has a very strange colour too it see photos. It did have a degraded film on it which I have removed but the colour beneath it is still strange. I am wondering if this is a typical colour for this piece. Was it lacquered or perhaps chemically patinated, or burnished? Any insight on how the grill would have looked originally would be helpful.
Thanks for your help
Cheers!
Bryan
